The Kv is different: http://www.neumotors.com/Site/1500_series.html. 5200Kv vs 4100Kv--both have 6.7 gear reductions.

You can use this online motor calc program to see what the power and performance will be for most any possible setup: http://www.ecalc.ch/motorcalc_e.htm?neumotors

The quick answer suggests that the 2D motor is good for 3 or 4S@ 250+ amps and the 2.5D is good for 4-5S @ 200 amps with a 17x17 size prop. Use a ICE 200 or P180 if you want to operate at the full abilities of the motor.
