yep review a few DS videos you'll get the idea of what 100mph and above looks like

definatly going to have to learn about DS and locations closest to pull it off.I was keen to get to borah to learn a bit more about slope as it is addictive and see what the big boys play with but work did not permit it,I will speak to a couple of the local slope nuts and get my hands on a glider capable as i do not believe the corflute wings are cut out for it.

Here is a pic of the latest build personally i think its ugly but a maiden flight may proove its worth,with a bit of luck it should be faster and more agile than the last quick wing i tried.
hopfully it wont rip itself apart although it is still entertaining when it happens,maiden tomorrow i will try to get some video if possible.

Well i brought it home from its maiden intact,i havent got vid yet i only had 3s batts charged so the maiden was pretty tame i will give a 4s a run and try to get some vid with my dodgy camera.

Triangle sloper.
Similar to Mugi but without all the extra weight.
Maidened it yesterday and it is very stable, just floated off into a moderate wind. Needs a couple of tweeks:- Move pushrods lower on control horns to get more throws. Next one will have elevons to the middle. This one allows for a motor.
Added a nose cone to spread the impact when it crashes, plus the flap which holds everything in and reduces drag

we use them for combat with simple rules of the streamer points to the plane.
5mm coreflute (real estate signs)
OS25FX, in the nose.
I have managed to refine the design a little over the times but it serves a purpose and serves it well, not unsual to have mid airs, pick up the bits, bit of tape and usually a new prop then go again.

I`ve been following this thread gathering ideas and getting prepared to have a go at my first corflute model. I have (legally) obtained a couple of Ray White 3mm signs and a small sheet of 5mm corflute ex Bunnings.

One or two of my clubmates have indicated an interest in this type of model for combat purposes and this one looks like it will fill the bill nicely

Query re square plastic tube for fuselages. I couldn`t find any full square plastic tubes in my travels - is there any available? I did come across a plastic channel section with snap-on lid (cable-tray) at Bunnings that looked like it might have possibilities. I didn`t buy any at the time as 4 metre length was minimum quantity available. Has anyone used this material or can advise of any similar?

I guess that folding a square fuselage from corflute is a practical solution..?

You got it AW.
That gutter pipe seems to be a very North American thing. You can make your own fuselages from corflute (that's when the 5mm stuff comes in handy)
Or go with one of the "rail" builds. Simple aluminium channel which can contain the servos and all other electrics (except the battery). I mentioned it before and I'll do so again. The QHOR is one of the easiest to build and most satisfying planes to fly that you can make for almost nothing. (there is the slightest mod which makes it a gem:- cable tie the high point, created by the fold in the wing top, down to the alum channel). You get a much gentler windflow over the top and it's a pussy to fly
