My own design "Old Timer" I call the "Boo-Boo"

Hi All,
Wanted to build an "old Timer" style Airplane. I went to "outerzone" and found a wing design I liked from a plane called the Bugaboo, And designed a fuselage to hold the wing. The fuse is roughly similar to a "old Fogey from Flitetest and scaled up 130% -

The plane is a 3 channel (RET), has a 48" WS and weighs about 2 lbs! powered by an NTM 28-26 motor and running on 3S 1800-2000 mAh battery!

Haven't Maidened it yet!! hope it flies?

With the oversize wing and tail on a short stubby fuselage it's got a lot of the same sort of style as the Clancy Lazy Bee family.

Be sure to report on how it flies for ya!

Well done. The only thing more satisfying than flying a model you built yourself is flying one you designed AND built yourself. Enjoy!

Very interesting Having designed a few models over the years, some successful some less so, I was going to propose this as a built off subject - design your own old timer.

However with my own build logs full of foam and plastic film I thought this perhaps a bridge too far but, looking at NewZee's effort, perhaps not.

Just a thought

Ray

I hear ya RFJ....No sooner did I finish this "Old Timer" , I picked up a "vintage" pattern plane (Super Kaos) built back in the early 70's that I'll do a restoration/conversion to electric! Need a bigger bench!

Lovely plane 'Zee, good luck with your maiden

Your build off idea is a good one Ray, but with all those old designs out there of different shapes and sizes, and ranging from scale to most peculiar that need building, perhaps a build off for new "vintage" designs would not really fit in here? Just a thought...

Looks great. The cowl and "engine" lend a very nice touch.
