UBEC question for PT260 servo with 2S or 3S lipo
I'll be putting a PT260 servo in a truck with a 2S 6600mah 50c lipo (7.4V) running the motor and a 3S 1000mah 20c lipo (11.1V) running the 5.8ghz Tx and camera.
The question is, my pan servo (PT260) runs on 4.8v-6v. What's the best way to power this? I'm currently planning to get a UBEC to regulate one of those sources down to 5V. Is that the right way to go? Is there a better way to get power to that servo? I'd rather tie into 3S TX/Camera battery so I can easily remove the entire FPV setup (pan/TX/Cam/battery) when it's not going to be used and not take any power from the vehicle motor.
Can anyone suggest a good (and inexpensive if possible) way to get this done?
p.s. The vehicle is a Traxxas Slash VXL with 3S ESC.
