Turnigy Aerodrive SK3 - 5065-275kv Mtr Queston

Any one have experience with this motor? Why is it so long? It has the numbers I am looking for but why are the dementions so strange. I thought at first it might have a gear drive up front.

I trust that it is exceptionally well trued and balanced, and has superior bearings.. otherwise it will have issues with that long moment arm from prop to mount (especially if you use the radial adapter). Fixing it behind a firewall with a collet adapter on the exposed shaft would allow for better balance... but even so I'd be wary of it.

That is a good point Dr. Kiwi. I need to mount in from of the firewall so maybe that isn't the best choice.

Is that motor made with two stators joined back to back or in line on a common shaft? Or is is just one extra long stator? It is a little hard to figure out the details there.

The dimensions show the can as 49mm O.D. x 58mm long, that is a little out of the ordinary for sure.

That motor cries out to be taken apart...
