I dunno, its been about 18 months since I posted about painters putty not curing.
Think maybe it's time to check on it again? The parts in question got hung up out of the way looooong time ago.

Just found this thread! Good deal.
I have a dream catcher kit that I have had for a few years that I will be starting this winter. I am also going to make mine electric. This is a great thread!
If anyone is interested, I have the prints for both the original and the dreamcatcher plans in pdf.

To anyone who has done an electric conversion on their Sailaire.
Did you have to add weight to the tail?
Yes/no?
What were you using for an electric setup?
Did you add any down thrust on the setup?

Thanks much!

No, i have not built one yet, but if i did i will use these prior builds as a guideline,
You are on the right track electrifying also, no need to deal with winches or high starts and the electrical components would probably weigh close to the required lead nose weight.

good luck, john s.

Thanks for the links
Interesting reading, but not the info I needed.

I am looking for people to chime in with what they are using for an electric setup.
Prop, motor, battery, esc. It would be nice if the motors were listed as watts and KV because the numbering system (example: 4250-06) is not standardized across manufactures.
A rough estimate of what that package might have weighed and did their setup require adding weight to the tail? What was the all up final weight of their Sailaire?
Anyway, that would be some good data.
