This is looking like an interesting new servo too since the ds09 is nowhere available,
Will this servo fit? The specs look pretty good!

http://www.hyperflight.co.uk/product...mm-9g-2-2kg-cm

Or is this servo a better option?

When it all turns out well i am picking my xxlite up in about two weeks

the first one i'm not sure , anything taller then the ds09 does not fit , the second servo fits for sure.

graupner has the same servos as the hyperion ds09 serie, des 427 is the plastic gear and des 428 is the metal gear version. the last one i use for ailerons.

I just received DS-09 AMD and SCD's from here, price is not bad either.
Shipping may not work you your location though in US dollars?

Hi Pastry,

I can't speak as to what everyone else is running in their XX's but I have ds188's for the rudder and elevator in mine. I am also running an optima 6 with the case removed and light weight heat shrink covering it. I was originally going to utilize d47's because they will fit right into the wood servo mount that is included with the plane but for whatever reason I am always looking to make things more difficult, (maybe if my parents had held me more I would be different…), but I went for the ds188's - little sanding of the case and bending the arms down a pinch and they fit right in.

I know that Gregg Bolton is running d47's in his XX, he is also using an optima 6 as well.

I hope that helps, I am sure others will chime in with their servos of choice.

Good luck with your plane!

Chris

d47's on the tails work just fine. I have 2 XXL's running D47's on the tails.

New tails look wicked sweet K!!!!!! They look light just sitting there.
