For us in Europe, paticularly the UK, there is a great difference between Hong Kong and mainland China. Because it was a British colony till (relatively) recently, and still enjoys a certain amount of commercial autonomy, HK post is pretty quick and there is a good attitude to customers among all the suppliers. Even in the UK, dealing with mainland China and China Post, is a different thing entirely. And summed up by something Chi said; "you get em when you get em...IF".

I'm sure anything you can do to improve the supply situation in the US would be appreciated by your customers .

Good Morning
I just sent off an e-mail inquiry to Steve at sicRC for prices on a near complete vs pieces and parts kit that might be suitable for less than full competition use.
I hate the wait times and shipping costs, from even Australia, much less China.

Well I've the day off today and it's raining. I really can't wait for the longer days so I can run in the evening after work. I'm hoping to get out and search for new running places tomorrow.

Chi does Steve sell those cages separately? I don't recall seeing them. But it really does look much better.

I think we all can agree with John that waiting for parts sucks. Hong Kong/China stuff takes ages to come to Ireland, US and Australia takes anywhere from 5-10 days, and even though the UK is next door it's generally about a week. The thing is Ireland has little for RC support/shops. And what we do have is always grossly inflated prices. I wait for 99.9% of all my parts with any of my rc's, so I tend to do like Chi and keep stockpiles of nearly all the spares I may need.

Well a quick look would have proved worthwhile, cheers John.

Chi, how difficult was it to access those screws?

Chi may have a better way, but I did it by making a small right-angled screwdriver (pound shop job, bent through 90degrees about 2cm from the tip). Took time and patience, but if I can do it with one hand it should be plain sailing with two

Steve's rollcage is far superior. Being as I was quite a succesful scale R/C aircraft builder before the stroke, I felt bound to reduce the height a little and also put in the third (central) crossmember in the top, and the side bars, to make it more like the current Oz sprint boat ones. Couldn't find a way to put in all the supporting structure and still be able to take the hatch off, on my stock NQD. Will try it on my Steve boat where the rollcage is fixed to the hatch. "...not a pedant, mind, just a lover of accuracy"
but even as delivered it's a thousand times better than the stock one.

I think Chi said it would burn a $5000 hole in anyones bank balance. And it not like you could use it in competition much. Its like the NQD/Steve boats in that regard - except they will come in about $4800 cheaper
