Yes, those are the retracts I used (even for the nosegear).

The main gear wheels are foam Du-Bro 150MW 1-1/2 Mini Lite wheels, and I robbed the 1-1/4" foam nosewheel from a Hobbico Skyfly 2 (replacement part number HCAA3880).

I flew it several times today; the wheels and retracts worked great, and the plane will fly easily at only 50% throttle and a little "up" trim. It's got plenty of power and speed (just under 60mph on the radar gun). It's a real hoot!

the same decision...but i think the t45 is the best platform....my second will be t-33...

I've heard comments both ways on both planes too. For $40 ARF, how can you lose.

The HC kits are incomplete. You don't get a fan, canopy or plastic parts. The $40 arf comes with fan/motor and all the parts needed to complete. Just add servos, ESC,receiver and battery. Totally worth the $40. I have gotten 4 that way thus far with good results.

i use a six blade 50mm edf...so i don't need the fan...the only problem is the canopy...

Canopy is a pretty important part. I sell the fan/motor combo when I get it and replace it with the Himax. So I still come out ahead. I sell the motor and fan for $15-$20 so it comes out to the same as HC in some ways...

Pete Young brought the Sabre over to the Indoor Flying area at the AMA Expo late Sunday and indeed flew it for a couple of circuits before a small wing took it out. I like the MiG a whole lot better as the linkages are mostly inside the fuse rather than hanging out underneath where it will be continually catching on stuff.

And what is the fan size? 30 or 40?

These are 30mm according to Jalin. Pete...are you lurking here? I forgot to ask you at the AMA show if they were indeed 30s. Can you confirm?
