I've been following Sean's antics since his Florida days, on another ornithopter forum and do not recall this machine. I've tried searching this forum for more information and coming up dry.
Do you have any detailed information to share on this drive? It just looks interesting and I'm curious.
Thanks
Rick

The wing in the 3rd photo looks interesting - appears
to be designed like the trampoline.

The skin does have a 'tauntness' that we are not using today.
Old prodject, the dish in the background would place image date in the 80's I believe.

All kinds of wings are being used today with varying degrees
of tautness depending on the design.

I thought this wing was interesting because the design appears
to be loosely based on a trampoline and it appears to
have provision for articulations and control of membrane
tautness.

That may be why it's sitting on what appears to be a trampoline.

Cheers,
Patricia

Hi Patricia; and not to diminish what you said, coincidentally Sean uses a trampoline as a work surface too..

I should have guessed ! - I use whatever surface is handy as a
work surface too !

All the same, that wing is very interesting, do you know anything
about it ?

Cheers,
Patricia

Patricia.

Using flexible wing material on the outer part of the wing, can give good manoeuvring control.
