Aquatic Flying Flea with Twin Rotors. *Le Pou on board Video Up*

Hi Guys,

As promised some build pics of the latest project.

It's an aquatic twin rotor version of ' Le Pou de Ciel Hydro.'

specs: Total span 50", power 150~200watts with 10x4.7 SF prop, mass so far 400g, Max All Up Weight est. 600g for disc loading of 3.5 oz/ft sq.

We have lost our large open water flying facility (the beach) so all wetside projects are now in the 'Pool', untill we move to our new compound later this year.

Should be ready in a few days, Cheers,

Regards to all, Al

Al your nuts, crazy and insane! But I just love those mad ideaís you come up with for models!
Are you sure you werenít a duck in your former life? I hope when you move to your next apparent they have an Olympic size pool.
BAE must be charging you hanger feeís with the amount of models you put together in the last year! Where do you store them all?
Keep up the great work Im daily checking in to see what everyone is up to and Iíve missed seeing you post.
When you going home man? Or did you sneak away over Christmes?

Maiden Flight, bring a Ladder!

Hi Guys,

Aaah thank you Cali , so kind of you to endorse my Doctors opinion, hahaha, you have to be a bit bonkers out here, notice you don't see any one else in my videos? They are all hiding inside, out of the Sun, Ho hum, Mad dogs and Scotsmen and all that.

Todays main event was the maiden of the Flying Flea on floats with Rotors, or as we parle dans le Frencais 'Le Pou de Hydro avec Rotors techniques', or 'Phart' for short.
Joe I remembered the heidcam no bother, just forgot my ladder.
No real damage after the high landing, I added more right thrust to the motor as it was a left turner and put some expo on the rudder, I will try again tomorrow, then see what happens.

Cheers,

Regards to all, Al

Al, congratulations on the maiden flight of your pharting flea, clever and funny name!

Looks like it just needs a little trimming and she'll be a fantastically fun, fully fledged, fine flying flea...phew!

Hi Al,
Nice job man! I noticed that your test flight area doesn't look difficult enough to fly in, you think you could find a better area with more light poles, buildings, cars and pedestrians? I loved the guy walking by; he didn't even take notice of the model barreling his way! Good stuff Al, thanks for the entertainment.

Regards,
-Mike

Part Duex, le Bon atterrissage, prochain vol de la piscine!!

Hi Guys,

Looks as if the mods worked out, both the side thrust and the Expo on the rudder, now at 60% so much easier to fly, I must have built her a bit squint, on the huff, as she wanders in heading, could be lack of fin area or Diff rotor speeds ?? Not to worry, we will go 'feet wet' early tomorrow morning, weather permitting of course.
@ Cali Sorry mate I forgot to reply re: Home time, my next is in 17 days for three weeks Wooohoooo! I didn't get back for Christmas, so we had to make do pulling our crackers here There is a huge spare area in the new place, but the large pool is covered, a couple of little ones to splash in, but that's laters.
For your further entertainment, here is this mornings larking about, sans ladders. Cheers,

regards to all, Al

Al,

She looks really good, nicely done!

Wasn't clear on the "huff", are you going to add or subtract squint?

Looking forward to the "feet wet" video.

Al's guide to 'Brit Speak' # 362 0f 1000.

Hi Guys,

Dan, Sorry Buddy, "Huff": Scots for bad mood, as in, "Now I've eaten your scone, I suppose you are in a huff ?" or Old Norfolk for misaligned, as in,
" You've painted that line on the huff, it's all wonky!"
"Squint": Scots for twisted, either in alignment or position, not to be confused with "squint" as in eye defect, a combination could be,"Look you squinty old bugger you built that rotor blade on the wonk, I'm off in a huff now.

Finally this early morning's presentation of 'Al attacks Pool cleaners armed with big sticks! '
or le "Pou Hydro Grande Finale" a totaly european abroad production, Hope you enjoy this conclusion to the project, Cheers,

Regards to all, Al (crazy or otherwise)

Al (otherwise),

you made that look very easy. And very nice.

What's the AUW of the pou de hydro and what are the dimensions of your floats?

Jochen
