Currently looking at tx/rx units. Scorp/bill..how do you feel about tactic? I mentioned it to one of my hobby store guys and thought he was going to pass out..i dont think he cares much for them.. I was looking at the spektrum 3e and the mr200 $74 and $49 respectively.. What do you think?

I've been running tactics in just about all my boats.I did recently buy a Futaba 3PMX but other than it being capable of storing trim settings for 10 different models can't see where it's any better.

I have actually have thought about treating myself to a nice radio...................almost talked myself into it. I have been using the Tower Hobbies version of the Tactic..........i got about 4 extra receivers with it and it works great. Never have had an issue with it...............hmm.........hard to buy another one that will be expensive when thgis one works so well.

I kinda hate to admit it but have 3 tactic transmitters with 3 recievers for each of them. Even worse they were all in boats. (yeah I got it bad).
One was running the UL-1 and my big Miller, one was running the DF33 and my 47" mono. The last one has been in the Genesis, Goldfinger, and is still operating the Sprintcat and Mean Machine.
The Futaba is being used in the VS-1, my 47" mono and now the Falcon cat.

just made it home..here are the links to what i have purchased so far..waiting for shipping:

motor:
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...or_1000kv.html

I was hoping the other t5692 780kv would become available but it is still on backorder. Its 50 volts with of course the lower kv..but this motor does 40v with about the same specs. Since i am new to this i figured this would be an ok motor ..like with planes..there is always room for growth..

esc:
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...oled_ESC_.html

after checking this esc against the Swordfish (scorp) it looks very much like the same unit with a different rapper..we'll see..

and of course the "coke-cola boat" hydro:
http://www.nitrorcx.com/99b-12001-ck-1300-kit.html

doesnt look like a coke can a bit..??

I ordered the 2 traxxas 2056 waterproof servos today from my buddy clement at toysonics.com..with my discount..$27.00 each.

All of my 8 planes have used/use spektrum so im leaning towards them..what is a relatively decent price range to stick too?

I'm found a cooling tube at OSE its the leopard 5650 ...the specs on the motor say its 56mm in diameter.. and this tube is for that size:

http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...eo-5650-jacket

i was also looking at the props..Scorp recommended an x245, was it? There was no spec on the motor for the bolt hole spacing so i guess i will have to wait on the motor mount purchase..unless i make my own?? I think someone posted on Scorps build for his hydro..a bracket that fits around the motor??

Anything else i should be looking at on OSE??

SAME as yours.....................but 780kv. But you need to run 9 or 10s with that big boat and a lower kv motor. I run a 780 in my Big Hydro and it still pulls 200-220 amps. A 1000kv will be pulling 250+ easy...................you will need a huge amperage esc or a tiny prop and much less speed.
