Catalina control linkage

Hi !
I am facing the installation of the control linkage in the tail of a catalina, and wanted to know what linkage should I use. Should it be water proof, or would 2 mm steel rod or sullivan golden rod will do ?

Thanks
Avi

If you're going to use it in water, the wet stuff has a habit of getting in EVERYWHERE. This is probably not a problem, but if you're worried about it, you could use an RC boat-style pushrod with O-ring seal. Or you could just put some petroleum jelly on the pushrod to help seal it.

Hi Jim!
since I am going to use it in water, I'll have to do one or the other. one other thing, don't the metal show rust?
