I broke a couple pushrods in my ESO Carbon a Valenta model and they appear to be made up of fiberglass or maybe a plastic that's been wrapped in FG, can anyone help shed some light on what they actually are?



I'd also like to get my hands on some replacements as well so any advice in that department would be greatly appreciated as well.

IMO you can replace it by a CF-rod.

Jonathan, I have some 48" x 3.1mm CF hollow rod if you need it.

Thanks guys, since the original tubing is still attached and intact I'd prefer to just replace the core piece I show above. Will have to give it another look to see if a strait piece of CF can clear the ballast tube without any binding.

Just order a replacement set of CF pushrods from CST. I can't remember if the .070 or the .060 fits better. But either way, you will only be out a few bucks and will get a MUCH stiffer and lighter pushrod that fits in the original housing.

Thanks. I may try that route but it looks like I may need an annoying 2" more than the 4' version and they do not tell you the shipping cost until after you've paid. Not knowing what oversized shipping fees would be if I bought the 6' ones makes me a bit hesitant to hit the buy button. I wonder if there are any tricks that could add a few inches more to a rod and save me from getting 22" of unneeded and expensively shipped product.

Brandon, thanks for the offer. Looks like I need something <2.0mm OD and roughly 1.25-1.28m long.

There is no oversize shipping on the pushrods. They coil them up in a rectangular box. I usually just call them as they are very friendly on the phone. I have replaced euro pushrods several times and it works very well.

Ditto. There was a time when we pulled this uhh... stuff and replaced it with CST rods before we shipped the planes to our customers.

A bit frustrated with the $10 handling charge for orders less than $75 on top of the normal shipping cost. That makes it $15/rod... anyone in SoCal need something from them?
