When you set up a new model, the pitch curves default to -100% at L and +100% at high. This is normal practice. On most heli builds, that is pretty close to where you want them and you limit pitch by travel. In these RTF helis they build, there is far more pitch capability the you need and 100% will likely cause bind. They have supplied pitch curves that beginners should use, usually between 50 and 60%.
In the case of the throttle hold, it is disabled when you get you heli and or TX. When you enable it, the default is the 100% you see. It is up the the user too set it up properly. it's just a case of learning the transmitter setup procedures and the heli requirements.

Yea i agree with you . The first thing i do with a new heli is drop pitch travel down to 30 percent and set all pitch curves linear -100 to +100 . Next make sure i have 0 pitch at center stick . next raise pitch travel untill i have the max pitch i want at low and high stick which is 12 or 13 on the master . Set 8-10 deg cylic . Last set throtle hold to 0 deg pitch .

Will getting the master cp with devo 7e for $199 worth it or just get it with the devo 10 for $249?

I would definitely go for the 10 as you need all the range you can get as a beginner. When you start doing FFF, you will find that the heli gets away from you very quickly. The Devo 7e is suitable for small field flying only and is of a lower quality build. You can use the Devo 10 to fly larger helis from other brands later on if you want.

I see a number of guys here put lipo battery alarms on their MCP. That what I use on my V200D02. Other than the extra drain on the battery, are there any other negatives to using the telemetry to monitor the flight battery? I can live with a little less flight time if the thing works really well.

How much cyclic and collective pitch is recommended for acrobatics/3d?

Edit: im running 12 degrees of collective, and 7 degrees of cyclic. Using http://www.helifreak.com/attachment....6&d=1291570047, blade length of 205mm and a ruler to measure.

I have a Mini CP and enjoy it alot.....when its a little windy I cant fly. I am looking at also getting Master CP to help me learn more.

Is it worth getting a Master CP or should I get the TREX 450 DFC rtf package?

Try the Master, itīs pretty cheap and durable after you changed the servos after the first crash.

As previous post, I would also suggest the MasterCP. The 450DFC is a different bird to fly. It's hard to tame down a DFC head due to it's design. It needs lots of head speed which relates to very fast response and if your not up to it, you will crash a lot.

What tx are you using? As long as its not a 7E id recommend going for a master cp, and then when you get the feel for it consider a 450 or 500.

If your flying with a 7E you might as well go grab a rtf trex kit. Or swap out that 7E for a devo 10 or 7.

Just did a range test of my Master cp + devo 7E. Range is 80m +-4 direct line of sight & no canopy. Measured using my phones gps.

Seems its time to look into a tx or atleast a radio module upgrade.

12 is good on collective and i'm at 8 deg on cylic . The few flybarless units that i have had recommend 8 or 10 deg . If this gives you to much conrtol either use dual rates or expo to tame it down .

What do you guys see as far as the future for factory and vendor support of the Master CP?

Some sites don't carry it and some do not carry parts. Not the majority but still it seems if a heli is not on the list it is more often the Master CP.
