HELP! Can't get plans off the foam.

I used 3M spray adhesive, but I guess I put it on too heavy. Now I can't get the paper plans unstuck from the foam.
Any ideas on how do it?

Jack

Just redo it, not worth the effort. I use school glue on the spots that are waste. Or I just trace over
lightly and it leaves a mark on the foam.

3M spray is just about as permanent as you can get.

Acetone will save the plans.

Won't it destroy the foam?

I tried using the heat gun. I was not very successful. Then I mixed a batch of 50-50 water/alcohol in a spray bottle. The Staples paper seems to have 2 layers. The top layer came right off, but the 2nd layer was royal PITA. Lots of rubbing and scrubbing and I got most of the paper off.

Next time, spray a VERY light mist on the plans, it doesn't take much. Let it dry and then apply plans to the foam. It should come off pretty easy after cutting out the parts.

I have heard of people putting the foam under a warm shower and soak the foam overnight for the paper to come off.

Try a bit of scrap foam and isopropyl alcohol, not thinned down. You might need to sand the paper surface to make it easier for the alcohol to penetrate. Leave it to soak and soften the glue. It would be worth doing to check whether it does work.

I use accellerator, it will desolve the 3m-77 without harming the foam...get a little under the edge, and just spray and work your way....
