I'm torn between the T-33 and T-45... as my next plane so I need opinion from owners of both.

My requirements due to wanting to fly at small park are:
1. Better slower flyer
2. Easier hand launch on stock fan+motor+3S

I don't always have time to drive to big park and gasoline price is making me shy away from longer drive too

Did you see the vid of my T-33? It flies so so nice. Fast and slow. You can see the slow flying in this vid.

I've flown a stock T-33 (hand launch) and watched the maiden of a T-45 with landing gear. I'd say go for the T-33!

I like the T-33 but have some reservations on the tip tanks. Anyone have any problem with them getting broken off on landings etc? I want one of these jets but am undecided between the A4 and the T-33.

I thought that they would be a problem at first too. My first few flights were with out tanks. But then I made them removable with magnets so that if there is a snag on the ground they will just pop off. But from what I have noticed they actually help with landings. The help the plane slide more. I wouldn't worry about them at all. Watch the video of me flying mine above to see how they do on landing. It actually made landings better having them on...

gooniac & crxmanpat,
T-33 it is then. I had my eyes on the T-45 from the flight reports but now that the T-33 is getting better reports, I'll focus on it then.

By the way, what lipo did you use in that vid? The launch was slightly scary. If that was the 1700mah 4S you've been mentioning, then my plans to use 1000mah 3S should make it much lighter for easier launch and even slower flights.

You and the video convinced me ... just ordered the T-33 from Venom. I am also thinking that since my eyes are aging, the larger wingspan might benefit me too.... LOL>

My favorites so far are:

F-16 - It's a speed demon
A-4 and T-33 - Not as fast, but they look awesome in the air

My next purchase will be either a T-33 or F-18.

Just thought I would post a heads up, I just tested a twin 30mm A-10 in EPO. Makes me wonder if this is supposed to be one of the new 30mm models in the series?

Bob Ruff has that A-10 too. I'm hoping to see it fly tomorrow.

It's not a bad airframe. Takes a bit of up reflex to start and the elevator is quite sensitive.

As a direct quote from the original article:

"The word on the street is that there will also be some 30mm and 40mm EDF models released"

This 30mm version was mentioned because the original artical referred to 30mm and 40mm models coming down the pike, some being twin EDFs. I wondered if this airframe was designed for that slot. If that's part of a conversation that you don't want to hear about, sorry.... simply ignore the post. Besides, the other A-10 thread was quoted so no need to start one. LOL!

As good as these 50mm models have been, I hope the others due to come out follow the same pattern of success regardless if others don't care about other fan sizes.

The launch was all my fault. My hand slipped so it went out of my hand wonky. The launch was also done at a little above half throttle. I never launch full so that I can have the power for the flight. With full throttle it would have leaped out of my hand no problem. But it really isn't needed to get flying. 4s 30c Sky Lipo pack was used in this vid. And this was a conservative flight so that it would be easy to video. It is easy to fly but loves to go fast!

Landing gear!

I've got the F-18 that I've already added landing gear to (fixed mains and nose, not steerable). Take-offs are WAY easier than hand-launching, and touch and goes are easily accomplished (even without a steerable nosegear).

I just finished the L-39, too, with GWS micro retracts.......
