Just since my last flight of my DragonFly, my pitch servo is randomly glitching up and down like there is noise on the channel. The roll servo and tail motor are steady.
I swapped the two servos (channels) and the glitching followed the servo.

Note, the servo still works and the glitching is small enough to not effect flight too much.

I'm guessing that the servo is bad. Does this sound right?

Either way, can someone tell me what servos came with the 2003 RTF Feda DragonFly?

I've seen postings that say it's a GWS Naro+STD. If this is correct, what connector is it? F/J?

Also, while I'm asking about connectors, what is the name for the connectors on the stock battery?

batteries...if its a red one it is jst connector. found at hellihobby.com the servo i am not sure.

The battery connector is black and has a locking tab on it.

I'm not sure but you can change both connecters.
DeeTee Enterprises sells a Servo Plug Connector 7" Crimper Tool & Servo Wire Shortening Kit for $22.99 and you can change the Power lead plugs to a Deans connector $2.49

i experienced a severe servoglitching after a "light"crash with the dragonfly.
i opened the servo and found that it had been stuck at its "maximum travel limiter".
it sounded like it was radio interference.
i adjustet the gears and have flown 15-20 flights without probs.

i had a dodgy servo (after a few flights) and the store where i bought it from changed it for me

Weird connectors. The battery one is the same as the "Firebird RTF electric plane" battery connectors. i couldn't find anyone that stocked them.

your servo connectors are also different to the standard JR servo connectors.

My advise is to cut them off and replace them with standard ones. They're going to be a real pain down the track.

Re the servos...it might be worth just buying a new one for about $20. Last thing you want on a micro heli is a servo you can't trust. You can use Hitec HS55's, HS50's, GWS PicoBB+.

I couldnt afford to crash my heli due to a faulty servo. Is your servo orange? My servo had exactly the same problem, i replaced it with a hs 50.

I took apart the servo and re-centerd the output shaft. And the glitching stopped. The think the servo has a sensor inside that tells it the rotation location (feedback loop). I think it got misaligned in a hard landing and then the servo was trying to center itself (the glitching back and forth).

I'm good now.

As for the connectors, those strange servo connectors need to connect to the all-in-one receiver/mixers/gyro board so I can not change those easily.

I plan to convert the battery connectors to mini Deans to match the LiPo's I'm thinking of buying.

Speaking of LiPo's, does anyone have a good 1500Mah LiPo charger that can run off of AC power?

OK, now the other servo is sticking every now and then.

I took OzzieFlyer's advise and got some GWS Pico BB servos. The problem is the connectors. I didn't think anyone sold servos with the DragonFly connectors so I ordered JR connectors on the new servos.

Does anyone know how I can connect the JR connectors to the DargonFly board? (pictures attached)

I guess I'd like to splice the JRs into the old connector ends.

Has anyone modified a JR connector to connect it to the 2003 DragonFly pc board? If so, what JR wires (Orange/Red/Brown) go to what DragonFly wires (Red/White/Black)?

Servo connectors

How you have it laid out in your picture is how the leads go

Brown = Black ground -
Red = Red positve +
Whit = Orange Signal S

Only thing I can suggest is get the other end for the JR and solder the leads on to the board.

Try All Electronics they have this one and carry futaba/hitec.

wow...didn't realise that they used different connectors..what a pain.

I would just cut off the jr connector and solder the wires to the wires on the other connector.
