Gasser for Cub

I have a smallish 82"ws Great Planes Cub arf. I have had electric motors in it for quite a while, and would like to repower it with a small gasoline engine. Not sure what is needed and what will fit inside the cowl. Does anyone have any successful experience with a gas powered Cub of this size?

Thanks,
Larry Fitch

That's the clipped wing cub intended for .60 to .90 glow?

If so I would think something like a GT15 might work if you wanted gasoline.

Hopefully someone who actually has that plane with gasoline will chime in.

I have a DLE 20 in my Hangar 9 Taylorcraft. I believe the wingspan is 80". I bought the plane used with this engine but if I were to do it again, I would go a little larger. I bet your cub would be similar.

Thanks,

Mike, Jeffin, Thanks for the comments. The Cub isn't a clipped wing version, but I don't think that matters much, and it is intended for a 60-90 glow engine. I'll have to do some checking to see what size gasser will fit. I see the VVRC sells a 10, 15, and a few 20-21 cc engines. I'll see what I can dig up for dimensions on these small engines, and give one a go. Bigger is better--if it will fit. Thanks for the responses.

Larry

I'd have to say the 10cc would be the one you'd want, recommend either the Horizion Evolution or OS , stay away from the others in that size, there crap.
