Twin motor KFm4 flying wing

I have been thinking about this for awhile and finally got the work bench cleared off enough to give it a try.

I was wanting to build a twin flying wing and use differential thrust for yaw control. I was hoping to get some good flat spins and stuff with it. The wing is 52" span 14" cord at the center tapering to 8" cord at the tip. AUW is 19.25oz. I am running Emax 2812's with turnigy 18a esc's. The battery I used for the maiden is a Turnigy nano-tech 1600ma 25-50c 3s. I also have it setup to use two 1000ma 3s for longer flights. I may set it up for fpv later. It depends on if I can still get the cg correct with the fpv stuff on it. Here is the third flight/first successful flight. The first two it was tail heavy and didn't last to long.

Very nice. Very agile in the air.

Russ...

Love the look of this twin engine KFm4. She turns in a dime.

Did you once mention that you might try the KF on a copter?

Thanks Dick.
Yea I still want to try KF on a gyro but havn't got a chance yet. I have been gearing up for the Uni Dome funfly in Iowa. After that I may get the gyro project back on the work bench.

Got another flight today before the wind picked up. I like the way it flies but it still needs a bit of tweeking. The servos are not strong enough. At high speed the control goes away. The differential thrust works good though.

Iīm thinking to build my new X8 with twin motors, but i hesitate about any diferential thrust, because i canīt wire the motors to autopilot.
The other way is a Y plug from the motors to the autopilot throttle output.
any suggestion?

Thank you

Wow!! Almost exact same setup with what I am trying to build! What a coincidence. Almost exact same size too. Glad that the measurement I pulled out of my arse might actually working.

Been thinking about the autopilot too. Can't find diff-thrust in ardupilot.
But it seems like a V-tail mixer might work. The autopilot wouldn't know if its a diff-thrust.

Here's a reference I found on youtube:
Differential thrust on the cheap! (7 min 2 sec)
