Question
What foam should I use?

Hey guys,
this is the first plane I'm building from scratch, I'm going off this plan:
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1182455
He recommends using EPP foam but unfortunately in australia its hard to find and expensive !
Can any of you recommend different foams that will still work with this plan that I can find in australia?

Thanks for taking the time to read my question!

Maybe 2CM XPS foam. You can cut it in half so you have 2 sheets of 1cm (with a hot wire cutter).I do that because I can't get dollar tree foam, depron or EPP here in Belgium.

Here's a video on how you do that:

I hope this was useful .

I recall a certian kind of fl;oor foam for going under hardwood floors being used in the UK forums .We here in the US are loaded with different kinds of cheap foam .I use blue Dow 1/4 fanfold and buy it in bunks then the dollar tree store is a couple blocks away from my home and i always pick up 10 or more sheets to keep in stock for winter. Big 2 inch thick and 4 inch thick 4x8 ft sheets at home depo . Yep EPP foam is not cheap here either but there are companys here in the US selling it tho . joe
