I have a .32 RimFire in my NexStar and the specs seem to be the same as a Reaper GR45 but the ECS and Prop are smaller for the RimFire? The NexStar has a GP Silver Series SS-55 ESC and a 10x5 APC-e with a 5S. Can I put this motor and ESC into an SC and if so, what prop? What Futaba servos are you using Tim?

Thanks
Rob

Rob,

(3) FUT 9650's - ailerons/elevator
(1) FUT 9252 - rudder

These are what I had lying around so I used them. The rudder pull-pull tray did have to be modified slightly to fit the 9252.

Hi Guys....

For those of you using the CC ICE 100 ESCs, are you using the ICE "light" or the ICE 8S version???
Kind of surprising that the ICE "light" says to not use it for helicopters or large planes...Since it is a 100 amp ESC I don't think you would use it on small planes....

with the GR45 not in stock is it smart to go with the GR60 or is it too much power and would make it less controllable

Remember Mike, power is controlled by the left thumb (or thumb/forefinger).

The GR-60 is just as controllable as the GR-45 you just might need a little more throttle management.

but if all you are using is 40% of your full range of throttle the resolution of your throttle is lower which makes it harder to make fine adjustments.

Kind of like using servo arms that are too long and you end up limiting your servo travel electronically to 40% of the full travel range. You are better off changing the arms to use the full or close to the full travel

Sorry but I've never been really concerned with resolution on the throttle especially on my smaller electric planes. GS is a different story. But maybe that's just me.
