This is the same combination on the E-Flite Mystique which is also an 11' wing...albeit, the Mystique is probably about a pound heavier.....and after putting quite a bit of lead in the nose of the pure sailplane version....I wanted to make sure I had plenty of power.....You can always throttle down....but if you are underpowered, that can make for a bad day.....It should also make it good in higher winds than the hi-start version.

Oh, correction, I have the Oly 2. not the Oly 3. Any recommendations on the Oly 2, would be helpful at this point. I don't know how similar the build is to the Oly 3? Also not sure about Ailerons or spoilers how to configure. Or good folding prop choices. Planning on using a 2200 3s bat. As my experience is this type of model needs nose weight.

The Oly II is a much simpler build...I would go with spoilers and not ailerons....put servos in the wing to drive the spoilers....I use Hitec HS-55's.....as far as a motor...you need something that approximates a .15 glow engine.

The front and rear fuse sides with initial laminations curing. I'll join the front and rear with the interior lamination on Wednesday. With any luck, it should start looking like a fuse by Thursday.

I got the top hatch braces glued in and the #4 former.....If I get finished with honey-do's tomorrow, I'll get formers #2 & 3 installed along with the stab saddle. Then bring the sides together. After that, I'll start working on the firewall install and the #1 former modification.

Well, it's starting to look like a fuse. All formers as well as the stab saddle are in. The firewall is also in....everything is straight. You will notice the gap in the #1 former. Instead of trying to cut a new former with the tabs and hole, I just decided to cut it in half, install one half on each side then glue pop sickle sticks across the gap...Worked great! The second pic shows the top of the #1 former with the sticks glued on. Now on to the pushrods!

Cut down servo tray to fit HS-81MG servos and make more room in the main compartment.

Ray's Oly II is going to be a very fun kit to build. Ray has done a great job with his laser cutting which is going to be a touch better even than Airtronics. The original kit had all the parts machine cut and sanded for the best fit of any kits on the market at the time. Ray's kits go together eve easier than the original!

Enjoy the process and feel free to ask any questions. I've personally built 3 of the original Oly II's.

Have fun.
