The OEMs were AA sized? I replaced the batteries on my older Stalker Pro with a relatively cheap NiMh, Sub C, RC car pack. Still works great. The guts looked very similar to yours with the temp sensor and 3 wire setup. Can you field charge those guns? Might want to hook up a pigtail while you're at it.

Stock capacity was 2400mah. Now has 2000mah eneloop.

The 2400mah cells were same length as AAs but slightly fatter.

I have never charged it above 1A at the field

Good to see youre getting some time back for DS Alex. I remember that day at dilmah ridge with frustration at our guns, as I reckon that's by far the fastest Ive flown! Oh well, have to come back there again!

Did some more testing today. Different range settings etc. This is the best the gun has ever gone! Got 156mph with a Reaper on a front side dive (dived from almost out of sight) Followed with solid readings for about the last 300ft of the dive on 20-220 range setting. Beforehand, it would only read if directly, I mean directly at the gun and only if lucky the last 100ft

If anyone is having problems with their Falcon, I HIGHLY suggest making sure your power system to it is solid and giving a good voltage

Would you please do a build log with pictures and your final configuration of electronics.
I am interested in giving this a go.

It is just a direct copy of the original battery configuration (I even re-used the solder tabs between the cells), but I used Eneloop 2000mah cells instead

Just make sue you keep the length as I had to dremel out a bit of the handle to get it to fit again

Stu, I field charge mine ... I took the original wall pack charge lead, cut it and soldered a servo plug onto the end. So all my Falcon gun charging is done with the peak charger - I can't use the wall plug now. Ah, I remember ... that's because I got sent one with the US wall plug! Anyway it works and I like the fact that I can charge it on the hill too.

Gee Alex you've got me wondering now if I should replace my batteries with Eneloops too! It's so frustrating when you're gunning a fast Kinetic and getting no-reads ...

My TX battery was wrecked by a wall charger so I have done exactly like you have done Andrew. I expect my new battery to last a lot longer because the proper charger will look after it much better.
Cheers

Wait till I get something fast back in the circuit again and get the radar on it before you change it. Missed a good 50mph good direction day at Tekapo today:

So there's no issues peak charging with those electronic components in series?
