I kept this poll public (will place your name on the poll) so as to identify any trolls and discount their votes.

Hey Phil,

Not having any experience with the previous airframes, I can't comment, but they do look nice.

I have been looking at the Hobby King High Performance Racer Series, all available from the AUS warehouse. Here's an example: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dProduct=29815

Cost would end up similar to the GWS ones from e-Bay (shipping being the killer) and we could use whatever power train we wanted.

I really think the Hobby King Fun Fighters, like my Rarebear, are too small and fast for our oval as they go out of sight way too quickly!

My 2c

Thanks gents.

Geoff, your $0.02 is actually $0.33 right now.
Don't be dissuaded by previous models - it's about what you want to fly in a competition.

My personal thoughts are along your lines, a span of less than 750mm is hard to follow for many of us whose eyesight is/will be less than 20/20 this year

EPO is an improvement on years gone by when it was new tech and limited models available.
This led us to flying GWS designs which are now (4 yrs later) pretty much obsolete .

For those who still own/fly Rev 0 spec models we could always run a separate round.

But lets focus on the new, not the old right now.

Cheers - Phil

I've just added my vote (to use my old plane) now that RC groups is working for me again but I will go with the flow if it is decided to to go with a new type.
Obviously we'd need time to order the plane and gear.

If you click on the number who voted in the poll window it will show you the names.

No bother, but right now we have 5 voters. Doesn't look good.
Does anyone have a problem with a post on the Aussie forum for Perth pylon flyers?

No details yet - they will go externally by email.
Perhaps when we've elected a type we could go semi-public.

Do we have any WARS members who can contact Merino, Johno & the other chap?
Alos there was another gent who came along one morning but I forgot his (unusual) name too

I'm a WARS member, so I'll try to find them. There are a couple of others I could try to contact as well.

Cheers

Ok, I saw Terry and Merino at the park yesterday and they are both interested. They even have a couple of ParkZone Hellcats that are about the right wingspan. Not sure about the power train though.

The other guy you mentioned Phil, might be Corrado, who is also a WARS member and lives very close to our park. He could be a possibility.

Others who would probably want to be involved are Wayne Henderson and Simon Glossop. I haven't seen them at the park in the last month or so, but they love all things crazy.

Then there are Chad and Aaron. Rick has met them and can vouch for Chad's flying ability. He's brilliant and would be a contender for outright winner. Chad works (or did last time I saw) at Toys Central in Prindiville Dve, so I can try to get in touch with him.

That should just about give us the numbers!

Cheers
Geoff
