Glad you like pull-spring, still my favourite way of doing things.
Sure, I will include some extra CF in future parts kits. The 3K used on the tips right now are very stiff, so it's definitely optional.
I'll put you down for a Dbox wing, I can't wait to throw one of those! I bet it'll be pretty darn stiff!

First Flight Report!!!
Today was a great day to maiden even thought it was pretty warm out (near 90). Light breeze and plenty of lift. I am still getting it sorted out as this is my first rudderless plane but i think i have the CG set right now. This is also my first introduction to the Zone V2 airfoils.
Initial build weight with CG around 75mm was 266 grams or about 9.3 oz. Pretty light. After dive testing I put 3 pennies in the nose so its probably closer to 270 now. Still really floaty thought with this much wing area.
Man this plane is slippery! It moves around really well, no problems zooming around the sky. The amazing thing is that with a bit of camber, she slows down for really nice thermal turns. Launches are pretty nice but I am getting a bit of a buzz so i'll be tracking that down. Otherwise this is a really easy to fly plane with great potential. I'll continue to give updates as i get more experience with it but I am really happy so far.
As an side note, there should be no need to wrap the peg with anything. The proper way to mount a peg is the following:
1. drill hole for peg. make sure its tight.
2. use a piece of music wire and heat to melt out a small 1 inch area around the peg.
3. tape over hole
4. find the ends of the empty area and poke air holes around the sides, 3 to 4 per half
5. mix up a bunch of epoxy and micro balloons
5. pour into plastic baggie
6. cut a small corner off of baggie
7. inject epoxy into bottom hole until it starts to come out of air holes.
8.clean up and put some tape over bottom
9. wait to dry
10. re-drill hole for peg and glue
This is SOLID!

Thanks James. I guess I never really considered a hard-point at the wing tip before. Might just have to give that method a try. Just used a bit of C/F cloth and finish resin to tie the blade to the skin on the previous builds.
Shaping the blade eliminated .5g so it's now at 1.3g. Could loose some more, as it's still plenty strong, but will stop there.

I was wondering about the fiberglass for the fin. I have plenty of 6 ounce stuff to use. You always wanrt to put the weight in the tail - right?
Fin glued on and fiberglassed. Used some lightweight carbonfiber mat underneath some lightweight fiberglass. Not quite bulletproof (since that would require kevlar) but it should be plenty strong enough.
Added a piece of wire to the canopy to hold it on. Not sure if strong enough so might have to go to the tape method.
Thinking about using a round peg instead of the fancy one supplied. Would be easier to install plus might work better for me.
Now time for radio instal.

Typically 0.75oz glass is all that is needed and holds quite well. If you hit the ground sideways hard enough to break that, then you'll have other problems as well.
Flew Neos again today and really am starting to like it. I have the CG set up where I like it, about 70mm, and am getting used to rudderless but still am not crazy about it. The plane is very responsive and likes to talk when in lift, which I really like. Today would have made any plane look good though, lift was strong and everywhere. I had a few low level thermals from about 10ft. Not as graceful as with a rudder but it works! The plane really likes camber when thermalling so keep that in mind.
Thanks for bringing a great flying plane to market Thomas! I am looking forward to a d-box model!

I do a hardpoint on my wings for the blade as well:
-Cut slot for blade
-Hollow out foam around blade area with bent wire for hardpoint
-Put a piece of masking tape on bottom of slot
-Cut a line on the masking tape the length of the slot (this will let the blade through, but not the epoxy mixture)
-Roughen blade around the midpoint where it attaches to the wing
-Mix up some epoxy with chopped carbon tow
-Fill the slot and surrounding area with mixture, make sure no more bubbles
-Slide in the blade
-Make small fillet with mixture between blade on wing (on top side)
-Remove tape when cured, should have a fillet on the bottom too, formed when pushing blade through the tape slot.
Hope to get a Dbox prototype flying by late May so we can start rolling out production Dbox planes early June.
I'm working on the manual as well, hope to get that out soon, bear with me for a little bit guys. In the meantime, don't hesitate to post any questions and I'll answer them as soon as I can.
Will have my travels for the flaperons and elevator posted later tonight.
Art, I would recommend using the provided blade. It is less draggy than a peg, places your fingers slighter further at the tips because of the double curve, and is much more comfortable (especially after an hour of throwing!)

I spent a bit of time and repaired the Neos I crashed in Carnation last month and got it flying again yesterday. Handed it off to it's new owner (along with my XG6 transmitter!), can't stand not having a Neos in my hands!
No matter, will be picking up a big batch of new kits in a couple days, and hope to have a Dbox prototype ready to go in about 2 weeks
Will just have to play with my other planes in the meantime

We're expecting it to be around 120g for the whole wing, but I don't have any concrete numbers right now.
Dbox version wings are going to have the Spread tow carbon Dbox, tips, root, and flaperons.

Caught a couple tails trying to sneak out of the workshop
Tails are now offered in 2 layups:
Competition FG layups - ~12g
Sport Kevlar layups - ~ 15g
The front spar has been shortened slightly on the tails to trim some weight, they're still crazy stiff though!
Also, if you prefer a rudder, let me know, and I'll cut it in for you
