Question
Best 3d umx

Hi all

First of all I know this subject is beat to death but still answer please.
I was wondering which of horizon hobby/ dsm2 or dsmx 3d UMX planes would be best for sport flying indoors and out. It doesn't have to be full 3d but still aerobatic and indoor capable. By the way my indoor space is about the size of three small basketball courts or two large courts(middle school gym).

Thanks

I think the sbach is what your after. I don't own one so can't say how well it works indoors. If you were outdoors, I would have said the Pitts. I do own the Pitts and wouldn't fly it indoors, because it doesn't hold a predictable hover very well. It prefers much faster flying. But just sport flying it will do beautifully.

The Beast. The Sbach also likes to fly fairly fast.

I would have thought UMX Yak would be best for high alpha maneuvers. Read some guys (I think turboparker was one) mention on the UMX Yak dedicated thread that of all the UMX planes, the Yak would be able to hover the best. That would be high alpha.

Beast isn't really durable, so if you're looking for something that can take a beating the Beast isn't it.

The Yak is the most 3D capable 2S UMX, and probably the most durable.

Yes, I had the Yak and flew it a lot (and crashed a bit.) It can fly very slowly, has the power to pull out of tough spots, and is tough. On low rates, it should sport fly pretty well. The only real downside is that it doesn't handle wind too well.

I just read this more carefully and that last sentence did you mean the sbach or the pitts?

I was talking about the Pitts. It might just be me not fully Invisioning the amount of space you have, but the way you describe it, I think I would feel a little cramped in there with the Pitts, it would be barely above stall for the duration of the flight. It would do it, but there's better planes for it. Perhaps something in a 1s bird. If only the Sukhoi xp was still on the market. (I have one. You can't have it )
