If It Flies on Volts, Bring It!

The third running of the Richardson RC Club's All Electric Fun Fly will be held on April 21-22 at its field at Bratonia Park near Branch TX, near McKinney. This is a laid back event with a few casual contests to keep things hopping and have an enjoyable day. The club has continued its upgrade program with new construction to make events more enjoyable, including two new "no slimer - electric only" tables to assemble and arm your planes.

Pilot Landing Fee: $20 for both days
Food and Drinks: Available at the field
Raffle: Lots of great prizes will be drawn around 3 on Saturday

Times: Saturday - Gates open at 0800, normal operations until 1800. Sunday 0800 to 1500.
Saturday Night Lights: Let me know if you are interested in night flying and if there is enough interest we will go from dark for an hour or two.

Come on over and have a good time flying at this wonderful facility that gets better each year! Bring your buddies, BFFs, frenemies and make new ones!

I think I'll be there for a day, I'm interested in night flying

Made it to this great event in '10, but was out of town working in '11 and missed it....Richard Ng and I are planning on coming this year, barring work rearing it's ugly head again.

Anyone interested in a limited duration motor run glider contest at the event? 30 second motor run, mass launch, last plane down wins.

10 second motor run would be cool..... In 30 seconds most of my planes would be outa sight!

The Richardson RC Club poured 19 cubic yards of cement today getting ready for our first major event this year - the All Electric Fun Fly! We will have 3 new starting tables, a new cooking area, a new test area and no more mud around the porta-pottie!

Plan on bringing your night birds for Saturday Night Lights. We'll see how many UFO reports we can generate!

I might try and make this one!

Will there be any combat there are a few of us planning to come down from Tulsa and like to fly our assassins in some friendly full contact combat. We will bring night flyers also if we can make it.

Are there plenty of electrical outlets available for battery charging?

Will there be light poles, or do we need our own lights? Lol, if we need our own, then the light of the LED in my Rx is enough for me

Will camping be allowed at the field on Saturday night?

I'll be there no doubt, this should be interesting

A new, larger generator with plenty (12) of outlets will be available for charging.

Lights are being installed in the shelters this week.

Camping will be allowed Saturday night. We will not run the generator overnight, so plan on bringing your own power if you need it. If you need other amenities, there are campgrounds in the area that are better equipped.

Bring your combat planes and get your buddies organized, and I will get you a slot. What kind of planes, rules (we don't need no stinkin' rules!), so I can work you in?
