Link works for me. Great pictures, nice slope, it looks like nice and soft landings. I bet you can really see the wind coming up the hill with all that tall grass, I am sure it would be easy to lose your plane as well.

The place is "Kao Lam Ya" national park in Rayong province.
It is about 220km east of bangkok or 2 hrs drive.
The windy season is around Feb to May.

Another best spot is down south in Puket Island, at "Lam prom thep" the famous tourist attraction place.

It is hard to find slope spot and we keep searching.
Moutains in Thailand mostly coverd with trees and no road access.

Cheers,

A bit of a drive for you. So do you do electrics in the Bangkok area?

Hi Brian

Yes, most of us do electrics. Our club is in Bangkok, you can see it on the same web page I posted. www.mea117.com

There are quite a number of RC clubs in Bangkok and other cities in Thailand.

Non-power glider on the other hand not so popular and we try to intruduce it to others.

Wow! Nice pictures. Thailand was great last time I was there. I was a tourist. Wasn't thinking of gliders back then. 1969...... Radios were iffy too! I had a pulse escapment one channel gas I flew on top of Phu Kio, near Sacon Nakon. Oh dang that makes me old. hehe It was a fun time. Sacon Nakon is near Nakon Phanom.

Hey! What The....

I looked at the link you provided and I was very happy to see that there is a lot of RC activity in Thailand. I happen to be Thai and live in the US. Imagine my shock when I got down to the bottom of the post and I found a picture of myself there! Where did that come from? Parker Mountain in California is not too far away from where I live. They do a lot of Dynamic Soaring there. It was just weird to see my picture up on this Thai site. I didn't even know I was there!

Thanks,

Pumi

It was fun flying with you guys at Parker that day and I see you got a shot of Bill De Hagen and myself checking out your wings. The wind was crummy that day but that's what motors are for. I need to get one of Ken's super rocket motors. I thought it was cool that they had so much power that they repeatedly made your wings torque role into the ground every time you went to full throttle while the plane was going slow. Too much power is always good !

Can I resurrect this thread? I'm probably going to Thailand in 2-3 months. I would LOVE to slope there, although by the looks of it I may be doing it alone. Never got to see those photos - did anybody download some, and could you possibly post them directly on this thread?

Thailand is great for another wind sport, kitesurfing - I did that almost two years ago in Hua Hin and was going to go back for another go - but in in the meantime I have discovered R/C. I wonder if I could find a spot near Hua Hin.

Piyarost, have you found any new flying spots?

Planebane,

Most of the picture in those website were lost when our server crashed.
I only have one pic showing our team with the background of slope site at Rayong.

We will fly there again in mid Feb.
PM me if you are around at that time.

Thanks Piyarost, looks like a nice spot - right by the sea, nice soft grass. Actually your groups is bigger than I expected. We have about the same number when we go sloping in Korea. We go almost every weekend during the winter. How often do you go to Rayong during the windy season?
