LET's Go Racing - Micro RC store and track

I just wanted to post up a few pics of my new store and race track focusing on mini RC racing.

We have a full line of Losi micros and Kyosho Mini-Zs. We also rent the Losi 1/24 rally cars, and have regular race nights for Mini-Z racers. Currently, we are running at 6 on Wednesday nights, and Saturday afternoons starting at 4.

We are located in the Myrtle Beach Mall, in Myrtle Beach, SC.

The entrance to our store from the mall.

A couple of our Mini-Z track layouts.

This is the rental/off-road/beginner track.

The pits, with electricity and seating.

Race control center.

A couple of overview shots from random places in the store.

That looks cool. Hope you can keep it in the black.

I always thought a 1/18th track\hobbyshop setup would make a nice storefront.

Thanks for all the strong wishes guys. It is exceeding what we thought it would, but it is still too early to tell how successful it will be.

Y2kGTP - I was being pressured to go 1/18th scale, but these are only 1/28th. I maybe could have squeezed in a 1/18th track, but it would have been small. Going 1/28th makes the track pretty big comparing it to most competition sized tracks.

Understandable. A micro drag strip might also be cool.

Ive been approached by a guy who wants me to put in a 1/24th scale slot car drag strip. I think its cool, but there is already a shop doing slots, and I don't know that I want to step directly on their toes. I think drag racing small scale RC would be fun, but very challenging

just put one of these in your window

...these tracks earn over $1000 a day when rented out for special events. Completely portable banked oval.

Really impressive! It looks similar to the Kyosho shop in Omotosando, Tokyo.
Here in England we have nothing like that, mind you we do have riots, immigration issues and no car industry!!! So its all good.

lorncherry - That is pretty cool. Do you have any details about it? Scale, brand, where can I get one, etc.. It might be cool to hook up my own. Maybe that is something I can do for the HPI RS32s. Ive got an extra Kyosho IC Tag counter and GiroZ. Just the concept of the timed challenge would probably draw a LOT of people in. A leader board may get some people coming back to try again and again.

pilatus mike - Thanks dude. I was shooting for something that was on par with Kyosho quality. I think we have achieved a very high end feel to our store, and so far that is the type of customer we have been drawing in. We have already doubled our regular race crew, and have another group as big as we started with owning cars and practicing up. Within another 2-3 weeks we will have tripled our starting number.

The track is drawing in a lot of new racers! There has never been a better time to get into MiniZ at the beach! We have box stock racing so cost is minimal, and a novice class, so you can start racing with people on your level!

Man, that looks so cool. And you have the perfect location in the mall. I think that all of the men will do to your store when the women are shopping for cloths ect.
