I've found very little difference between low and mild timing, low is a little bit more efficient, definitely don't use a large advance on timing, that's for outrunners only. 8 and 13kHz works fine. 8kHz is supposedly a little bit more efficient for the esc but I think it will make the motor sound a bit louder if your ears are good enough to pick up those frequencies.

I have been flying my Stumax 80 equipped Habu on a 7s GensAce 4400. I mostly fly it on 6s 5000 packs but let me tell ya the difference is not subtle It goes from 88A to 118A and the little Habu just takes off, my unscientific gut feeling is 20% more power and speed, plus an added benefit that I don't understand is it sounds even better. Definitely smoother and whooshier on 7s... More air sound and less motor sound.

I have the same setup, and use the CC ICE 100 on 6s, and have been wanting to try 7s. What ESC are using for 7S?

Well, that's a problem isn't it? I had an old HV85 and had to upgrade to an ICE2 HV120 to do the job. Plus since my little blue CC BEC was only good for 6s I had to use a 4 cell Eneloop Rx pack I had on hand to power the Rx. Plus I had to buy a couple of connectors from Progressive RC to make up a special balance connector for the 7 cell pack to my FMA PowerLab8. Hey, in my defense I didn't know all that would be needed until after I bought the 7 cell pack, DOH!

Where can I get one?

I've been searching and can't find this anywhere. I live in Florida and tried Esprit but they are backordered.

Any suggestions?

I'm currently building a batch for Esprit and USARCJets. I've been stuck at my real job working very long days for 6 weeks straight without a weekend (today was the first day I haven't gone into work since August), so almost no fan work has been possible. Things are back to normal now, so production will resume and stuff will begin to ship in a few days, 80's probably early next week.

Stu.

Yes the Gens Ace 4400 mAh pack has the XH style balance connector. I purchased a FMA PowerLab 8 balance cable AC-F8B and Parallel (2x) Balance Adapter for 7s JST-XH AC-PAR2J7 from Progressive RC and soldered them together so the balance cable can plug directly to the PL8. I can post a picture if you want to see it but it is easy. The cost for the cable was 8$. FMA also sells a balance/charge board for up to 8s packs but it is pricey.

I've had real good luck using the old style HV110 on 8S. I mounted the ESC so part of the heatsink is exposed in the airstream because I'm overrunning the current but have dozens of no trouble flights at up to 161mph

Hey Stu,

About to buy the habu 32 and I can't think of anything else I'd want in there but a stumax fan/het combo....I saw that you've been busy with a different job and that you'd be making some more of these soon? Any idea when we might be able to see some of these in the states? Thanks.
