Here's what I got from PC based "WavOscope" doppler.

Estimating the ambient temp @ 85*F :

L-R @ 4:01 .....190mph
R-L @ 4:07 ....185mph
Could you tell me what you get off of this (ambient was about 85)?
2014 Wenatchee Huckfest Vid 5 - Joe's Jet Drop (5 min 40 sec)

Hey Joe,

Oops!!...forgot to mention. the Wenachee Huckfest drop video was the one I got the passes from. You will notice that the passes match the "time" in the video for each pass.

I estimated the temp from Weather.com for the event weekend (avg'd 83-87* max) not exact but close enough to get a good idea. A difference of 5 degrees is worth about +1-1 /2 mph if its hotter. and minus if it's colder.
The right to left pass was a bit hard to get as the jet was turning sightly.

Love the "drop" idea. Good team work.

Too bad the Sparks are no longer available. I have a hand made USA built "Matrix" with the original (thick chord) wing. Just haven't gotten to it.

Thanks Gary!! that was on 12S. I believe we run slower up in Wanatchee as compared to down in the Puget sound area. Not sure how much we might pick up at home but the following week we did a 14S run on the same fan and I was on the Stalker Pro2 which was showing 214mph when elevator flutter lead to a series of exciting events which culminated in Kurt becoming one of my Best Friends Forever

The local guys have been very supportive, it's really become a team effort.

That just may be the fastest Spark to ever live! Did it survive the flutter incident?
The Stalker Pro is a very nice gun. I've used one, but don't have one. My 6 yr old Prospeed CR-1K is still calibrated to - 0.1 mph.

Have fun pushing that Spark.

Well, it survived the flutter fine because Kody was on the sticks and he seems like one of those guys hardwired to do the right thing. Where as I probably would have kept pulling back on the elevater as the plane plunged to the ground at about 2 ft from the deck he cut the throttle and it bobbed back up into the sky. But it was about 95* out and this was the first 14S run on the ESC so when he went around to land smoke was pouring out of it. Only because one of my buddys was already hauling a$$ into the field with the fire extinguisher when it was still 100ft out did we save even as much of the plane as we did.

Pushing these things does seem to entail a cost
