Heavy Rain.

We are experiencing heavy rain here at the moment which is likely to continue for a couple of days at least.
One of the plugs that I coated with PVA got some rain drops on it over night due to it blowing in an open window during one of the harder squalls. I will wait untill the weather improves, rinse the coat off it, wax it again and re-do it with PVA. I might try spraying it this time.

The humidity in my shed is close to 100%, so I won't be doing any other work in there either, at least untill it clears.

Same here Jim, four days of constant torrential rain here, local rivers are flooding blocking roads in and out of where we live.... Things were getting a bit damp in my workshop so moved the Deepend plugs into the house to be safe.

Yes Sean, I understand your part of Queensland, and further north, is getting even more severe weather than we are.

Thanks for asking Chris!

I have not worked on the project for some time now. I'm dealing with my usual seasonal depression with associated laziness actually! I always suffer from it to some extent over the Christmas holiday season. Opposite to what we are expected to experience. A bit wierd, I know.
I hope to back into action on it again soon. The weather has settled down now and things are drying out nicely.

I've also got one of my moulded plank builds happening. Also on hold though.

Jim.

No problem Mate,
How's about putting the batteries on charge and going for a days flying tomorrow at your local slope thats facing the days wind ?
I 'm not sure its depression here but for about a month before Christmas until about now I get fed up cause I dont see home in the day light except the weekends.
The weather was cheering up after about 10 days snow 2 weeks ago ....... more snow this morning. Hey ho keep your chin up Jim.

Thanks for the encouragement Chris, Tim and Josh!
I just went into town and talked to a few random friends and was astonished at how much better I felt while doing it. Makes my occaisionally vulnerable and unexplainable emotions look rather silly.
I'm lucky not to be one of the many unfortunate folks either burnt out, or flooded out, during the recent spate of natural disasters in our country lately!
And to have good friends in this little town I live in, and to enjoy the cameraderie and friendship shared on this site of ours.

Josh,
What happened with your trip to NZ?

Jim.

Oh it was great, its just that when you come back from a place like that what you thought you had at home is just not as good any more
Nah I just needed a break, the month before I left I built Roger's scorcher and then just went straight into building my (Alex's now) heavy one. That and the box and the packing etc etc.
Now Ive finally got myself some more epoxy and Im back baby!
Cheers mate

Yes Chris, in fact I have. I had an afternoon flying session up on our Great Dividing Range with a couple of flying buddies. Light conditions, but such a great place to enjoy.

I've actually made a start on work in the shed again, and tonight I'm starting on the tail surface mould layup, first side(s). I gave them both a surface/tooling coat this afternoon. Epoxy/Wests 403/404/graphite mix.

Thanks for checking up!

Jim.
