3 blades for a sls on a DG800S

I am thinking about the settings for puting a sls unit in my DG800 1:4, and as I don't like to cut too much of the fuselage for the doors, I would like to make the arms as short as possible.

My project is to use 42mm diameter outrunner with 11 or 12 inches fording blades using aeronaut hub for 3 blades. like the one available at icare

Question, does anybody tried that? is 3 prop a good solution?

I see no reason it would be a problem. The ICARE unit with four blades produces 10 lbs thrust.

Well done Stephane and very nice vid. Is there any cg variance when the motor is extended or is it compensated for?

the cg change is not really visible in flight as you have first to fight again the moment given by the prop that has a tendency to put the nose of the glider down, it is why I use a flight mode with some up trim. Also dual rate helps as the wind generated by the SLS on the elevator make it quite sensitive

Charles

It is not a fly fly, the kit comes from S2G, same one that is on Icare website
