NEO Pink Hawaiian Supermodel
Welcome to my 2nd Dlg build.
My 1st NEO was teal w/glass layup.
Then I ordered a pink glass NEO from Ali.
Before the pink one arrived at Flightcomp
I asked, Ali what's he going to do with his pink Dbox from his build log, when his full ST NEO was built.
Well I had to have a professionally built DLG from flightcomp..So a deal was made..
Now I had something to compare to when I start the build on my teal glass NEO
well before I knew it, I had 3 NEO DLG's in the house, 1 professionally built receiver ready, and the other 2 waiting for some attention, the top drive, had me (ascared) That's right (ascared) I could see me f#ck!n this up so bad..
So I waited till I was ready....
I was still learning to fly my Taboo GT, that I bought ready to fly, programmed with a futaba T8uhfs transmitter. And wasn't ready for this kind of airplane yet.
So I started getting the pink Dbox ready with a new to me JR9303 and AR6255..
I thought the hardest part about DLG's was paying for it..WRONG! Programing
That was the next big challenge.
Well I'm still challenged. I'm flying the pink Dbox every chance I get.
Its under gone a new fuse and new tail feathers. (still learning)
And the new fuse and tailfeathers have certainly put on a few grams of weight. I've had a couple repairs on the new stuff (still learning)
Well I have built the teal glass NEO, I didn't take the picture's I wanted, To do a build log,, but you Guys are in luck!! I still have a pink glass NEO SUPERMODEL to build for your entertainment..

let's get started
First I'll square the wing with the fuse.
I measured from wing tips 2 center of wing to find center. 29 1/2
The side of my line marked with "X" is the center of the wing.
I pulled my measurements from the rear mounting screw 2 the wing tips at the hinge line. 29 5/8 (picture's not shown at this time)
I pulled my measurement from the front mounting screw 2 the wing tips at the hinge line. 29 7/8
I pulled my measurements from Rear of the boom 2 wing tips at the hinge line.
39 1/8 & 39 3/8 this will need some attention after I go flying..

Ok I'm clocked back in
I've been juggling a bunch of different things so I'm back on my project.
My CG on both other planes are at 85mm and the teal Hawaiian is a sweetheart!
I got about 2hrs Flying in with her 2day. And she puts out! I like it like that!
So I think this build is going to be closer to 90mm. I understand they put out well closer to 100mm.
This fuse is not the original for the kit, I had to Use the original on the pink Dbox.
I dorked that fuse, And Seba sent me another fuse. THANKS SEBA!!
It took hardly any effort to mate this fuse to the wing, its square now!
I'm off 1/16" from side to side, but what's a 1/16" between friends.$100
its taken longer to log so far then the build..
my next step is to set the vertical Stab.
I'm clocking out..

Im back at it.
let's move on to the tail section, I know its been advised to notch the vertical stabilizer for the boom, however my crashing experience has led me to believe I should slot the boom and leave the integrity of the stabilizer intact.
I slotted my teal NEO boom for the vertical stabilizer I drug it on the ground enough to realize it stronger this way for me anyhow..
using the grid pattern on the floor I'm able to square and plumb the airframe.
I have laid out my dimensions on the horizontal stabilizer For the v mount,
That's tomorrows project.
Its running late,
I gotta go.

Here's some pics
Nov 14, 2013, 09:31 PM
there's plenty left to do..
but apparently I have responsibilities I need to take care of.
Nov 19, 2013, 09:27 PM
I'm stalled out, my next step is installing the pushrods and gear in the fuse.
There's a problem with the pushrods I had for this build, I'm not sure if it was gum from the tape on the .022 stainless steel coil, or a burr from my dikes or the way I stored the tubing.
In any event its junk to me, and with two more NEO kits coming in the mail, I have ordered a 100'. So if your in need of pushrods I can hook you up..
shoot me a pm .
Dec 04, 2013, 09:42 PM
So I have taken a break on my build, filled a couple orders on the .022 pushrods,
So I have repaired a dork I did two weeks ago, I dropped my teal neo, right on the wing tip.the throw peg took the hit full force, you can see in the pics it creased The wing at the tip of the peg..
I Poked a few holes in the bottom skin and used A syringe with foam safe CA,
I was planning a patch Over that area, but tests prove that its strong enough.
I have sence tested and launched it 30-40 tyms.
I'm getting 20'-30'.higher launches with my Teal supermodel then the plump pink Dbox..
