A batteries REAL performance is given by it's internal resistance - which is seldom stated - however can be easily measured with a multimeter. Some LiPO chargers also have it notably the iCharger series.

C rating is somehow marketing .. but as well ... is the outcome of quality test as well ...

The battery is not a passive resistor, where internal resistance is constant (or function of the temperature) ... in a battery the load condition change the internal resistance.

The internal resistance measured by a charger can't be very accurate .. since measure the resistance for charge the battery ... while the C rating is based normally for the discharge.

If you see how the battery are tested, you will see that IR is not so relevant ... you will see that it will be mainly shown the voltage kept by the battery at different constant discharge ... for the full battery discharge time ... on top ... the measurement of the temperature of the battery is always reported by proper battery testing.

LiPo battery should never get more hot then ~60 deg ... so .. often the C rating is mainly due not only by the voltage drop, but the limit of overheat the battery during a discharge.

Anyhow ... the C rating in these days is relative accurate from the producers ... clearly they tend to be a bit optimistic on it, since the C rating measure also the quality of the battery on keep voltage under load.

Rhino 3s 610mAh will fit and fly well with a tad of uptrim... I imagine a 400~500mAh 4-cell pack would be the order of the day for this little fellow.

Hobbyking don't stock 4-cell packs under about 800mAh so I'd recommend running series with two packs or soldering your own from single cells. Of course, if somone could give a link to something premade that'd be top!

All I can find is the 2s and 4s 610mAH no 3s

Well they have a 3s 610 mAH... BUT it is a 11.1 and I don't think that would work would it?

what would I get out of it? More speed? Longer flight times? If both what are the increases?

I use a 4s 350 and 360. Weighs in at 38 grams.
It's by no means the heaviest pack flown.

A bigger capacity pack will give you slightly more speed, as the battery won't sag as much because it's not working as hard. The extended flight time is the big one. If you go from a 400 up to a 600, you'll get just under 50% more flight time.

This is with a 610mAh, fits in under the canopy alright with a slight removal of foam on the side... it is flying well apart from a few silly moves it does... must keep plenty of speed through loops and rolls, drops a wing real easy and if you have no altitude the ground is where it's headed... lucky they weigh next to nothing and damage is limited.

Close... 2:15min if I fly WOT all the time and stop when I have used 80% of the lipo.

But it will be an intense 2:15... can't wait to see it!

any word on new models? these were the same initial ones they came out with in the 50mm series if i remember correctly, so im guessing its just a matter of time before we see the other ones?

Dnt get me wrong I like these and have been fighting clicking that order now button since day one - but I just know if i buy one by the time i get it all sorted out and flying some new ones will come out that i like the styling of much better
