God or Country

Interesting little spat going on in a thread on here - so is it

1 - God first - then Country

2 - Country first - then God

3 - Both have equal loyalty bequeathed upon them

4 - Don't know

Since I don't believe in any God, I can't choose 1. I'm English by birth but never lived there as an adult, I grew up in Holland, and now have lived in the US for the last 12 years.

I have no particular loyalty to any country, the whole idea of "My Country right or wrong" is anathema to me. I do not understand nationalism at all, it is after all an accident of birth into which country we are born (and which religion too, on the whole).

It's family first for me.

God first... Family a very close second... Country a very close third. So far God hasn't come between me and the family. Actually, our belief in God has kept us quite close together, even though we live in different parts of the country. My sons, my daughter, and I have all served our God and our country, and we're all proud of it.

Bordering on a personal attack... but that's OK... No, the Jihadis way of life, (note that I did NOT say religion), dictates that they kill those that will not espouse their beliefs... Christians do not. Yes, some radical nuts that want to call themselves Christians have bombed abortion clinics, etc... These actions are not part of the teachings of Christ nor his disciples. Wake up and smell the coffee.

I find it funny that you need to post somethng that ridiculous...

NO - not 'a personal attack' (that's a hysterical defense and quite wrong anyway - I was recognising your position on God V country)

Now I suggest you look up the word Jihad and get back to me

Truth is it's God today, family tomorrow, country next Wednesday. And don't miss "Our Right to Bear Arms" special on Sunday night.
