New Product
Pterodactyl Ornithopter

We wanted to get feedback from ornithopter enthusiasts on a product we are launching in the US this year. It has about a 5' wingspan, 500m range and 15-20 minute flight time. We're introducing it through kickstarter this week and would appreciate any input or suggestions on the product or how to make it better. Thanks!

On the pics of the "foot rudder control" Are you sure right and left are correct?

Does the charger port connect to an internal charger with cell balancing?

How about one without the radio and receiver so we can add our own? Edit: I see the $200 pledge allows this!

I have no idea what color a PTerodactyl was, but how about something tan/brown/gray or unpainted- less "toy" colored.

Looking for beta testers?

You're correct on the feet - good catch, thanks.

We do utilize a cell balancing technique - I'm checking with engineering to see if it is active or passive.

Very good suggestion on the color - I think a brown/tan version would be a good addition and we will add it to our mix prior to launch.

Unfortunately we've already gone through all of the beta testing but I'll definately post here the next time we have the need.

Thanks again, I really appreciate your assitance.
Jeff

I'll have our video editor look through the footage for some gliding shots and update the post. Thanks.

@KeithK - We've added the natural color to the kickstarter and our graphics people are doing the rendering of what it will look like in the next few days - thanks for the suggestion!

matte also flies better in these Re ranges and is used by sea and air animals [feathers have a turbulating surface]

In my opinion, the simplest change to make it look better would be to get rid of the color change denoting a beak. Pterosaurs were reptiles not birds and had no flesh-less yellow bird beak. Lol

If I continue to be critical I'm not a fan of the evil looking eyes. And I'd prefer to see wings more pterosaur like in shape and less bird like.

Two words:
HOLY *censored*. (In the positive sense)
I do wonder about the sound range and about cost of parts after the campain.
Also i doubt it can glide.
