Electronics problem. Engine smoking.
So I decided to start building an rc plane, I chose Izicraft as the model. But let's pass that, I got my electronics. Bought them from GiantCod

Im using E-fly 100b as a tx/rx. Got all connectors right. When I turned the engine on, it went for a while, (~5 secs), then I felt that smell of burned electronics. I checked all the links, tried again, this time the engine worked kind of weirder... and smoke came out of it. So i left it alone, and now I'm asking for your help.
Im using 8x43e slowfly GWS propeller.
My guess is faulty insulation on the motor windings...contact the manufacturer or distributer and see if there is a known production issue. If your lucky, others were also unlucky, and made the same call.
I also would not continue to "test" the motor. If the windings are exposed and shorting, then you may dammage your ESC by continuing to run it.
Of course trouble shooting unseen issues via internet forums is sketchy at best
If you were at full throttle for more than, say maybe, 15 seconds when it started smoking- then I might be with the guys that are blaming the slow-fly prop. If not then I still like the faulty windings theroy.
A slow-fly prop actually has a lot more thrust for a given rpm than an "E" prop. The "E" type props are designed for high rpm motors moving higher speed planes like flying wings and pusher "jets".
While the motor may be "rated" for an 8x4 prop and a 3 cell battery. The slow fly prop would pull more amps and would probably have to be combined with a 2-cel battery to keep within the limits.
This is just one more shining example of why watt meter is such an important tool. With such a tool you would have known EXACTLY how many amps you were pulling when the motor smoked and you would know wether or not you exceeded the limits. OR better yet you would have ramped up slowly while watching said meter and would have realized things were being pushed too far.
At the end of the day the windings are still probably the fail point, the real question is- were they faulty or were they pushed past their design limits? We may never really know. When you order a new motor, add a watt meter to your shopping cart....it will save you money in the long run
I can guarantee the motor overamped with 3 cell use and cooked itself. That motor/prop combo is made to be used with 2 cell lipos. Due to the high KV rating, on 3 cells, you've probably doubled the amp draw with that prop, and cooked the motor.
Low end manufacturers tend to leave out info like this. Any experienced modeler would know to not use anything bigger than a 6x4E prop on that motor with 3 cells with that KV rating. Not sure how that motor can run on 4s, maybe with a small 4x4 prop.
Don't worry, it can happen to even the best of us.
Also, you need to put some shrink tubing over those bullet connectors....

I really dont have more money to spend on other parts, i'm already out of budget, so, please, just recommend me one engine that has enough power for future projects and works with this battery, if not with the props too.
I've bought the gear from a forum recommendation from my country (rc plane models) and this is what I got. So hopefully I will get the proper engine now.
