Hi All

Thank you for interest.
I thing I do have most of the dremel work done
Last thing I need to do on the wings are servo mounts and retcracts t-nuts installation.
So one motivation shot

And as we will have to move to new apartment within a month I have no idea how long I would be able to work on Anton

Hi All

Small update today
Finished servo mounts today on one wing.

They are made from L shape dural and servos are attached by 2,5mm screws
Now repeat same procedure on the second wing

Vik, can you show the bottom of the wing mounted to the fuselage in close up? Just curious how it all fits together.

Hi All

A Hysol madness today
Most formers in the fuse are glued as well as firewall.

And retracts are installed with help of t-nuts and blind nuts.

Thank you LDM
This kit is not cheap, but worth it really easy to work on. Most of the parts need only minor trimming etc. If I will use the recommended retracts it will be even easier.

Just few minutes today and the motor is mounted on the firewall. The cooling fan is such cool thing.

And the ESC come as well over. I thought the HK YEP may worth a try. It is interesting how close it look as the YGE

Hi Vic , '
Yes agreed that fan blade is sweet , I did not know it would work with the eletric motor !!.
Dont know if your planning on a sliding canopy or not , I did one in my CMP Fw190 (its in my blog ) and it was done the old fashion way . Now with the new Figelli linear servos , it would be snap to make your canopy slide . They are about $70 bucks but its 100% plug and play , nothing else needed to get it to work .
Cant wait to see this project progress , your giving us all a new education in Giant Scale E-flight

Vic, any more updates on your Fw? I'd like to see how it's coming and what your AUW is gonna be. How does the Sist compare to others weight-wise?

Hi,

Well I shall have some update soon. But not too much.
With my wife we bought a flat which needed lot of work. Now I'm finishing a workshop (tad smaller that the old one. But I'm happy to have one).
Next week I hope to finish rudder and elevators from balsa covered with solartex.

Now I'm considering two things:
- originally I planned single servo for elevator which would be permanently glued on the fuselage. But due to the limits of my new storage an detachable elevators would be much better. But two 5085MGs in the back will bring me weight penalty up front.
- battery size. 12S 5000mAh or to go big with 12S 8000mAh
I need to get rest of the plane from the storage after I will come back from a business trip...

Regards
Vik

Ah, no wonder we had't heard from you. Well, I sincerely hope your new digs will accommodate a nice enough shop to finish your Wulfs. They both are looking grand!

Hi All,

I finally have done something on my Fw
The elevators are ready for covering and the rudder needs just touch up sanding
Without the covering I'm roughly on 1/3 weight if I will compare to the kit items. With bit Solartex it looks like I will be on 1/2

Hallo All,

I do have some update on the build.
The hinges for the gun hood are done and it will be great access door for the batteries

I wanted to drill the bolt holes in the wing and fuse, but lets say my workshop is bit tight for this size of the plane.

And I played bit with the Hysol

Can't wait to see it in the air

Hi All,

I do have a question. The 2,4GHz receiver mounting. Basically all fuselage front is done with CF.
Only the gun hood is from fiberglass. Do you thing mounting receiver there will be sufficient for signal strength?

Question II. NanoTech batteries? Are they ok? I red that they like to puff...
So far I had mostly Zippy and they are ok.

This is how the Sierra tailwheel looks:

Vik, Pretty much all batteries will puff if you get on them too hard. Try to get as high a C rating as you can afford and don't fly past 75% as a general rule. Nanos are pretty good. I've used them in big warbirds and jets. Everyone will have a favorite.
