I had a 2810-1000 spinning a 12x6 using gens 3s1300. Plenty of power. Works great in a 47shp too.

rpm will be more suitable for 3d and the extra prop wash with the 12x6 will give you more control surface authority. I run the same size motor (roughly) with an 11x5.5 even though it can handle a 12x6.. the extra efficiency means I get better flight times with a smaller battery and the 11x5.5 is plenty for this plane, also spools up a bit quicker.
just my 2c
Come to think of it, I was thinking a while ago I'd love to try the 1250kv version of the 110g motor sunnysky 1000kv motor I'm running.. it can spin an 11x5.5 (just) and the stats show 43A, 2.1kg thrust, 475W, 4.4g/w efficiency at 11v... it would be awesomely punchy!!!
so maybe try the higher KV one.. I'm definitely going to eventually. anyway I'd love to hear how it goes if you do decide to go with the faster motor

Lights

Would you put lights on the 40" EPP Edge or the 48" EPP Extra? I already have the 48" Extra but about to get the 40" Edge. Not sure which plane I would put the Aurora lights on. Thanks!

Lights?

Feen.. which plane are you the most comfortable with?

That would be the deciding question in my mind... I have had 3 night fliers... I am pumped to get my Aurora lights...

that is all i am lacking putting the edge together.

Well to be honest I haven't flown either EPP models but I have and flown my 41" Edge balsa and my 48" Edge balsa. I like them both.

See. That's what mine will look like. But if only I could fly like Joe.

Packs

So I've read through this thread and I still can't figure which packs to use in this plane. So what is it...1300 or 1550 or 1600 packs. I already have some 1300 packs and that's it. What is the best pack to use in this plane bottom line? Thanks!

All work but 1300's are a little light, 1800's are a tad heavy, except when windy, but 1500 or 1600's are just right. 1550s would be perfect!

Those look good Feen... but the biggest problem is pack length and width, to get them to fit under the wing without modification.... for me.. these fit nicely... LINK

They are 3s 1500 30c packs

Yes, thats what I use, but I did cut about 3/4" notch out of my wing for easier in and out.

I use those with no problems (about 1/2 inch tucked under the wing). I also use Sky 1300s all the way forward and they work great (actually prefer the 1300s for 3D flying). Of course where you need to put the batteries will depend on your setup - just saying these batteries fit the compartment.

Advice? Broken Carbon reinforcements behind firewall?

Well Flight 27 at the lighted ball field last night ended in not pulling up quite fast enough... ripped gear off (already fixed) but also tore firewall off... What have you guys done about the broken carbon stringers behind the fire wall. Mine broke and frayed obviously and I am tempted to just glue it back on and not worry about the lack of Carbon reinforcement... Thoughts/ Expereince
