B/L ESC's for 1/8 What do you run?

Hello,

I was curious, what others run for an esc in their 8th bikes?

I run an old Mamba 25A esc and a Lehner 1010 5455Kv/3200Kv motor (love the ability to rewire the motor!).

It seems ok but, I was wondering if i would get better low speed stability with an OTO/ZH esc?

I'm dumb as dirt when it comes to throttle curves etc on the Mamba software, maybe I could get a picture of a proper throttle curve to help at lower speeds??

Anyway, maybe I can get enlightened...

I know the Sensored units are very nice, just a bit pricey since I already had the motor and esc before the bike.

Q2. What choices are there for sensored motor/esc? Just Novak???

tks

I personally. Run either the venom 5200kv or hobbywing equivelant. I do have a tekin esc and 8000kv motor which I do like the torque curve of (esc that is) as I use it with a mamba 4200 as well. I have never tried a sensored system in the small bikes so I can't comment on them.

Never tried a sensored 1:18th system either. I use Mamba 25, Mamba Micro Pro, and SAE (OTO stock).

I have not used the SAE and either type of Mamba on the same platform, so I can't really give you a qualified answer. The SAE has never left the OTO, and I use Mambas on the GPV-1, Half-8, and Travis P bike. What I can say is that the SAE is a very smooth sensorless speedo in the OTO. The Mamba can be raw power, if programmed that way, or docile and smooth, if programmed that way. The Mamba is way more programmable than the SAE, but again, I haven't used the SAE with anything but the stock 4050kV Align motor and the OTO.
