I am making a little quad and just want to share the design.




Center "Transparent" plate is to be the controller board. Standard 45mm hole.

G10 Rendering...

Looks flimsy to me but lets see it's first flight first.

Plan is to cut it from 1.5mm carbonfiber sheet.
I don't think it will have any flex.

It's small... arms are +-110mm overall.
+- 220mm center to center motors

interesting design. good work. for a small quad (sub 330mm), i think it be more than rigid enough. definitely rigid enough if you use 3mm CF.

How are you going to have red and yellow when you make it in black carbon sheet?

Nice and clean looking design. I am concern about the flex of the motor mounts.

It won't be Red and Yellow. I have done that render to show the parts. Since it's not easy to see on the CarbonFiber render.

I will have a "Beta" set to be cut on Friday. Will be cut out of 0.094" black G10 material. Just to see how it is looking.

Looks nice. How are the legs attached to the arms? Glue or it just super tight fit.

Why do you call it a unibody frame?
From what I can see it is made up of several parts

Maybe the part about center + arms being unibody, usually this kind of frame have a center plate + 4 arms connected to it.

Ok, so first of all English is not my language. So sorry in advance if some word are not use as they should..

I have started the project using only a Controller as the center of the body. Only screwing the arm direcly to that board.

Then, i didn't think it was a good idea and maybe make the board break quickly on a crash. So i added a bottom plate.

So again sorry if the confusion.

This is a multi parts frame, with only one layer of arm (Not to are one on top of the other that are use in many bigger frame)

So have a name in mind ?

I to forget that English was not my first language ...but for me it was so many years back ..

hmm for a name..

How about the Dilafozo-Mini :-) it will for sure be a small frame.. the motor to motor distance is.. 8.6"

The landing gears: do they just snap in or will you have to glue them?

I will take that descision when having them in my hand.
But i do think a couple drop of CA will lock them in place nicely.

I think a little of both. :-)

Keeping a high tolerance .. where you can just have a friction fit ..
will be hard..

Option are to cut them a bit under size.. then sand to perfect fit..

the first test will be with .094-.1 in ( G10 material) .. and even CF..will burn up a lot of tools when cutting these material..
