Anyone have good UK source for lite ply?

As above, anyone have a good UK source for lite ply? Looking to scratch 30/50/140 size electric 3D (hopefully) airframes. But the only place I can see only does 3/32 and 1/8.

I've searched RCG with " lite ply UK" and "ply UK" and found nuttin'

Any suggestions welcome.

So what sizes are you looking for ?

SLEC http://www.slecuk.com/catalogue/Lite-Plywood.html do 2mm, 3mm and 6mm
Balsa Cabin http://balsacabin.webs.com/plylite.html do 2, 3, 4 and 6mm
Balsamart http://balsamart.co.uk/store/index.p...ex&cPath=46_77 do 3/32, 1/8 and 6mm.

That's just the first 3 wood suppliers I tried, there may well be others.

SLEC has it, good folks to deal with as well and their wood quality has always been excellent when I've used them;

Thanks fellas,
Thats absolutely spot on. I was looking for recommendations I suppose since I'm not sure how widely the quality varies.

That really helps though, I'll give them a good look.
Cheers

If SLEC's liteply is the same stuff they make their kits out of, its top notch.

That said, liteply might not be the best choice for the 30 size model as its pretty heavy, the 2mm stuff which is as thin as it gets weighs about the same as 3/32" balsa so that might be worth considering.

I find the Lite Ply used by SLEC to be brittle and would like to get what is called Poplar Lite Ply, very white in appearance, that used to be widely available.

Balsa Cabins is the same as Slec's as it seems are most of the supply in the UK

Anyone any clues as to whether it is available in 1/8th/3mm X 36" long?

I use Inwoods for most of my wood supplies, as there's not a single model shop in my area. Always had good service off them - even to the point of letting me keep stuff they'd accidently added to my order by mistake!

Here's the link to their ply section, might be something there you like and they do 36", 48" and even 60" sheets;
