Question
Phoenix 35 BEC

I have a Phoenix 35. How can I tell if its an old version with 1.5A BEC or the later version with 3A BEC? I don't have any packaging.

One has a single 1.5A BEC chip and the other has two BEC chips. They are fairly large chips with heavy connections so not to hard to see if you have two identical chips of that type. Perhaps someone would post a photo, as I no longer have one.

So it looks like this one has a single 1.5A BEC then?

A quick update for anyone else who needs an answer to this question. I just spoke with Joe at CastleCreations Tech Support. He said that the Phoenix 35's have always had a 3A BEC. And that the 2nd BEC chip is on the other side of the PCB, sandwiched between the upper and lower boards.

Yes with the Phoenix 25 they are both on the bottom side of the PCB, but with the Phoenix 35 they are on opposite sides

I meant to have said it was the Phoenix 25 that came in the two versions, one with only a single BEC with half the current capability, and the newer one that has two BECs and the standard Phoenix 3A capability.

But the mind got off track!
