Another EPP Yak55m -- Winners Model 49" Yak55m SEPP
I've just heard that Winners Model has developed their second EPP 3D, a 49-plus inch EPP Yak55m. It is now in production in China and should become available soon.
It looks very similar to Hokusei's new EPP Yak55m in my opinion, but it is definitely larger. According to the designer of the plane, Mr. Liu Caihong, the prototype no. 1 was too stable and not as fun. As a result, he developed the prototype no.2, which has a short fuselage and a bigger wing.
What's especially interesting to me is the way the wing halves attached to the fuselage. They are secured by 4 rubber bands. It's simple and easy. I think this mechanism should also help in case of crashing. Please check it out in the following video clip:
Wingspan: 1256 mm (49.4 in)
Length: 1248 mm (49.1 in)
Wing Area: 37.2 sqdm (576.6 sqin)
Total weight sans battery: 920 g (32.5 oz)

I was told the plane is already in production. I would guess the first batch should come out in less than 2 weeks? I will ask Winner's Model for a better estimate.
This year, Chinese New Year day comes in the beginning of February. Most factory workers in China will typically take a 2-week or longer CNY holiday and many small factories are shut down for 3-4 weeks. Anyone who wants to get the plane directly from China should take this factor into account.
