that's why I'm planning the road trip, stack the edge, the new extra and a 64" MXS in the Mazda CX7 and hopefully enough space for the pilot!

the 88" would be substantially larger though, enough to break the cubic/weight mark i think.

Tempted to go all out on the 30cc and get an OS GT33 haha, heard only good things about them. otherwise it looks to be a DLE35RA or EME or a PTE from wolfmodels.

I don't know about the DLE35RA, one of the guys at the club put one of them in his 70" Yak, pulls great on 19x8 prop, but very sluggish on 20x8.

I don't know what size prop you would want on the 78" Extra but I would suspect something bigger then 19x8.

I put a wanted add on rc trader and might have found an alternative option

someone has offered me a comp arf 2.12m 50cc extra with a DLE55, all high end internals, high end servos, the works for $1800

its very tempting, will need to have a good look over it but I might see if I can get the price a but lower and snap it up?

its the specs that count i guess.

These things like 5 good servos and a fast MG throttle servo does add up to be more then the airframe in a lot of cases.

For instance in the 91" EF Extra I plan to run 5 x Futaba BLS157 or 172HV servos plus either a hitec HS7235MH or JR 3717 for throttle. The last tow because they are extra fast cyclic type servos. That lot comes out around $1000 big ones depending on who supplies them.

Does anyone know roughly what we're looking at to fully deck out the 91" EXP price wise? I'm tossing up between the 70 and the 91 but I haven't set up a 60cc before so I'm unsure of what gear is suited etc.

expect to spend around $2 - 2.2k for a 91" (55-60cc) fully decked out, about $1.3 - 1.5k for a decked out 78" (30cc) and about $800-1000 for a fully decked out 70" electric.

Decking out the 91" depends on what gear.

I've run the numbers using the da60 and re2 pipe. Top end FUTABA bls157 servos and come up with a number around $3150.

You can go cheap but you gotta remember this is a 20lb airplane so you need the bigger motor like da60, or eme60.

Plus is got some vey big surfaces and you wont get by with the stock standard 7955TG type servos, especially in its ailerons.

Brett, I got a pair of video sunglasses.
Their only 720p res but seem OK.

I had to dumb down the upload as Vimeo only lets me have 500mB per week and I'd hit the limit.

These 60" planes on 6s setups are truly amazing grunty set ups.

Something like 1700W on a 2.5kg plane, which is something around 309W/lb.

Any idea if you'll be getting any of those torque 4016-500 VII that Chris is putting in the 60" beasts now? I'd love one of these in the 64" MXS on Xoar 16x8 prop and 100A esc. Blow the barn doors clear off!!
