where are you guys getting the gws40mm rotos?

GWS is no longer a prominent company like they used to be. They chose to try and sell inventory that no one wanted. Eventually they stopped come out with new products and now the only thing you'll know them for are smaller propellers.

I wouldn't recommend their blades since there are much newer and better designed blades from AEO. I referenced GWS because AEORC used all of the same measurements as GWS.

o so hows that 8 blade Aero rotor doing ? I just orderd one for my 32mm it will be used with a 4800kv inrunner

Radicalrc.com has them but they will shred with too much power. The Aeorc rotors have never come apart on me. I've tested them in excess of 350 watts and they are probably good for a lot more. Additionally the 2mm shaft adapter is very nice when it comes to servicing the power system. Gws does have a new rotor with adapter but I have not personally tested it. It might be better than the aeorc rotor in terms of efficiency at lower power levels but aeorc is hands down the way to go for high power at this particular time....untill something new comes out

Here is your 35mm shroud with the Aeorc rotor. It's almost a perfect fit. Would you consider enlarging the shroud diameter by the half the shroud thickness so the fan won't require trimming? The 40mm shroud is now a perfect fit with the stock aeorc rotors

I honestly do not knkow what the best setup would be. You might be better off with a 25mm edf powered by the new 8mm motor. It would be a lighter setup.

I posted on my blog a quick test result of the 8mm brushless motor in a 30mm fan that I have been tinkering with. The numbers are for a 3 blade GWS cut down fan. The pics are with a 6 blade fan.

pdawg, Here is the spacer I came up with. The I.D. is 6mm. I can't make the I.D. any larger due to material thickness. And I believe this is the only way to be able to put everything together before sticking it into the shroud's motor housing.

For the 35mm, I expanded the I.D. by 0.8mm which is half the shroud thickness on both sides. That's kind of a weird one to explain. Either way, the old I.D. was 35mm. Now it is 35.8mm.
