I really don't want to have to fight with the programs I run trying to find the right drivers/compatibility etc. Would be great if you just surf the web or do basic tasks though.

Don't get me wrong. I love what Linux has done being open source. I have used it for booting into a damaged hard drive to retrieve files before swapping out to the new drive.

no issues at all with drivers on ubuntu for quite a wide span of equipment unless you are using some specialized peripherals, long ago that was an issue but things changed in the last year or two....

That's the mistake most people make. Trying to use Linux, and fighting with the programs they used to run in windows. The trick is; You don't use the same programs in Linux as you do in Windows. You use better ones

Actually you probably already use a few: FireFox, OpenOffice (soon to be re-released as Libre Office), pidgin, Audacity, etc...

So who here is going to get the BOB No. 809 in their hands first? I know at least 3 or 4 guys have ordered this one ... not sure who pulled the trigger first?

One thing I noticed when zoomed in on this photo, it looks like the main prop gears are setup like a 6010 where the motors drive only one gear, unlike the S107 that has all that "gear train" setup. This thing might be a sleeper in disguise.

I'll be receiving mine first, Just like before with the first BOB deal, I think because of where I live., and I'm pretty sure am one of the first orders if not the first order placed. I'm tempted to order another one before they sell out or raise the price like the Z005 and Z006.

No shipping info here yet, so I doubt I'll be first.

It's easy to change the color of 809...just use a S107 canopy. The rest of the heli is color neutral.

Here is a red canopy for $1.56 shipped. Wish they have blue.

Urge to buy more 809 is about overcome me.
