NEX 5N or 5R or 6?

So obviously I'm wanting a new camera and eventually plan to build a new hex to fly it, but it will also be for my everyday photo use. I've noticed so much is built to accommodate the 5N, but as the 5R and 6 have more features, I'm wondering, is there any disadvantage to these newer models when it comes to aerial and gimbal compatability?

"More features"... useless for AP/AV
5N is still the best IQ for the bucks, the obvious choice.

Good point! But as I'm going to be using this as my walking around everyday camera too, do any of the newer features/design make it more difficult to balance on a gimbal, or interfere with current accessory control interfaces?

Check if the tripod screw is placed other than 5N, and also for NEX 6 is the viewfinder don't make mount more difficult or not possible.
I would check also if the HDMI adapter you intend to use is compatible, all are advertised as 5N compatible, very few being tested with other NEX cameras than 5N.

I have the 5R, its a great camera. I would go for the pancake lens on the R. Generally use it for my ground based vids using a tripod, though i have head mounted it. I have since purchased a mobius, for the on board shots

I have a a6000 and have reluctantly taken it up a few time los. Nice thing about it compared to the other nex cameras is that it shoots 11fps, so I'll take it up and trigger it with the remote for stills. I only have a 450 on 10" props so I've since switched to some gopro's and sj4000 on a 2 axis gimbal, and plan to setup a hex for the a6000. All in all it is a vastly superior camera to all of the nex before it but paticularly the 5 and 6, and if nothing more than the operating system change I like it a ton more than the 7.
